Your gift can help the ALA of Louisiana in the fight against lung disease. Expressive gifts are made in memory of a deceased, or for a special occasion such as the birth of a child, a graduation, or as a “get well wishes.”  Your gift will be acknowledged immediately by a card – sent in your name – to the family of the deceased, or the person honored in observance of a special occasion. The Emily Bissell Heritage Society is a special recognition society that was created to honor those supporters who have made a commitment to the future of the American Lung Association by including the organization in their Wills. Emily Bissell, the creator of the first Christmas Seal, worked tirelessly to raise funds to put an end to Tuberculosis.

Emily Bissell said, "Though we take things as we find them, we can always leave them better." Our legacy to the future is the most important contribution we can make in our lifetime. Please consider leaving things better by becoming a charter member of the Emily Bissell Heritage Society.

Become a charter member of the Emily Bissell Heritage Society by providing for the American Lung Association through your will or establishing a gift that guarantees you payments for life (charitable gift annuity).

Simply have your attorney include one sentence in your will stating: "I give and bequeath to the American Lung Association of Louisiana the sum of _______ to be used for its general purposes" or other wording of your choice. Since 1904, the American Lung Association has worked to fight lung disease by helping people quit smoking, funding research, improving indoor and outdoor air quality, and educating millions about asthma. Our work is possible only through public donations. To help all Americans breathe easier.

This innovative programs allows people to donate their used or unwanted vehicles to local Lung Associations in order to generate funds to assist in financing local programs which help to prevent lung disease and promote lung health.
