EPA Study Reveals Risks from Air Toxics
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has just released a report that allows you to see the risks in your neighborhood from a group of toxic air pollutants. The study, called the Air Toxics Assessment for 2002, looks at the risk of cancer and respiratory harm from 181 specific air pollutants that are known or suspected to cause cancer, called “Air Toxics.” Learn more. EPA must set its final rule for NO2 air quality by Jan 2010
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is expected to release a proposal to revise the air quality standard for nitrogen dioxide (NO2), a potent form of air pollution. The American Lung Association urges EPA to better protect public health by strengthening the standard, which will become the official outdoor limit for this dangerous air pollutant. Read more here.
